Welcome

Knoydart has almost no roads and no public transport, so the peninsula beyond Inverie is quiet, wild and a long way on foot.

Knoydart E-Bike Hire, run by Ben and Jenny from the village, puts much more of it within reach on electric mountain bikes.

The tracks run to the beach at Sandaig, through the glen past Highland cattle to Loch an Dubh Lochain, up to the Folach waterfalls, and north for views of Eigg and Skye. The ground is a mix of tarmac and rough track, and the motor makes the hills easy. Visitors this year have praised the quality of the bikes, the clear route guides and safety advice, and the patience shown to first-time riders.

Book online. Bikes are collected in Inverie, with longer hours on weekdays and morning collections at weekends.

Hidden Scotland, the magazine

Scotland, in print.

We want to show you the best that Scotland has to offer. The makers and the creatives, the enduring experiences, the evocative tales, the concealed corners. The roads less travelled that take you to places that matter. The adventures that gather you up and sweep you away. The blend of the wild and the artistic that makes Scotland what it is. We’d love for you to join us.
