Phil Kember and Claire Jones opened their fine-food shop and café on Byres Road in 2004, and it has been one of the West End's favourite places for breakfast and lunch ever since.

The shopfront is dark paint with gold lettering; inside, a long counter of cakes, tarts and sandwiches runs down one side, and shelves of deli goods line the walls.

They bake in their own artisan bakery, from sourdough loaves and speciality breads to cakes and tarts, and roast their own arabica coffee. The breakfasts range from toast with avocado and tomato to pancakes piled with fruit, and lunch is sandwiches, salads and plates from the counter. The bakes, brownies, granola and coffee can also be ordered online. It is open every day from nine until five.
