Hula Juice Bar

A cafe on the West Bow, just off the Grassmarket, serving fresh juices, smoothies and bowls, breakfasts, brunch and lunch.

Welcome

Where Victoria Street tumbles down into the Grassmarket, Hula sits on the West Bow, a bright and cheerful cafe given over to juices, bowls and breakfasts.

It opens at half past six, early enough to be the first stop of a day in the Old Town.

The room is a small jungle, with wallpaper of tigers and palm leaves, green-painted walls, wire chairs and plants tumbling from every shelf. The juices are pressed fresh and the smoothies made to order, and the smoothie bowls come heaped with berries, banana, granola and seeds. There are cooked breakfasts and poached eggs on toast, porridge, avocado on sourdough and big plates for brunch, then sandwiches, wraps and soup at lunchtime, with good coffee and matcha all day.

Hula opens every day from early in the morning until four in the afternoon, a few steps from the shops of Victoria Street and the cobbles of the Grassmarket.

Scotland, in print.

We want to show you the best that Scotland has to offer. The makers and the creatives, the enduring experiences, the evocative tales, the concealed corners. The roads less travelled that take you to places that matter. The adventures that gather you up and sweep you away. The blend of the wild and the artistic that makes Scotland what it is. We’d love for you to join us.
