Deeside Deli & Garden Shop

A family deli in Ballater with a cheese counter and a Royal Warrant.

Welcome

Deeside Deli is a family-owned deli on Bridge Street, in the middle of Ballater, the village a few miles down the road from Balmoral, and it holds a Royal Warrant, the mark given to businesses that supply the royal household.

Older locals may still know it as Gow's, the name it went by before.

The cheese counter is the pride of the place, a mix of local and British artisan cheeses that people in the area reckon is the best for miles, with antipasti, olives and good things in jars beside it. There is fresh fruit and vegetables, home baking, and each day homemade quiches, soup and sandwiches made up from the deli counter to take away, which makes it the natural stop for a picnic before a day on Lochnagar or a walk along the Dee.

They make up cheese boards and hampers for special occasions, and there are fresh flowers and a garden shop too. It is a small, busy shop, and very much a part of village life.
