Cafe Sunart

The village café in the centre of Strontian, at the head of Loch Sunart, open every day for breakfast and lunch.

Welcome

Cafe Sunart is a good place to start a day in Sunart, with a bite to eat and a table to plan over before you set off.

When the sun's out, take a seat at one of the tables outside. Strontian's Gaelic name means the point of the fairies, and some lovely walks start from the village. Phemie's Walk takes its name from a Forestry Commission worker who was well known in Strontian, and it climbs through the woods under some huge old conifers to a view over Loch Sunart. The community woodland is another, planted in the nineteenth century by the Riddells of the Sunart estate. From its top end, the Fairies Road heads on up the glen to join the trail through the Ariundle oakwood. Leave the car in the village centre, and come back to the café for a rest afterwards.
