Welcome

On the square in Aberlour, halfway along its mile-long High Street, the Aberlour Hotel sits in the middle of whisky country.

It is a family-run place, friendly and unfussy, with nineteen rooms, and children and dogs are both made welcome.

The kitchen serves fresh, home-cooked food made with local produce, from a simple sandwich to scallops, steaks and a hearty venison casserole, with bar meals at lunchtime and Cullen skink much praised. The bars pour cask ales and a long list of drams from the distilleries all around, and the hotel has its own house coffee.

It makes a comfortable base for exploring the Malt Whisky Trail, the Speyside Way and the hills, with the village green right outside. Rooms can be booked on the hotel's website.
