Places to Stay in Perthshire for Two

A cabin for two with a loch outside the window and nobody else about is one of the loveliest ways to spend a few days in Perthshire. These are our favourite places to stay for just the two of you.

Some trips are about getting away together, with nothing to plan beyond a walk, a long lunch and an early night. Perthshire is made for that. Its glens are quiet, its lochs are long, and the woods run right down to the water.

We've picked out the places built for two. There's a Highland cottage from the 1720s looking out over Loch Rannoch, and a restored bothy close by with the water and the hills outside the bedroom window. Little cabins on the south side of the loch share a sauna in the woods, and some look out across the water through floor-to-ceiling glass. Elsewhere there are off-grid huts high on a hillside with wood-burning hot tubs, and a cabin on the edge of a loch with a wood-fired bath for two. At the foot of Dunsinane Hill, a timber cabin with an outdoor bath looks out to the Sidlaw hills.
