Shopping here means makers and independents. On Castle Street in Inverness, a contemporary gallery has shown original work by Highland and British artists over two floors since 2001. In Beauly, a Victorian primary school on the High Street has turned its classrooms into separate shops for fashion, homewares, books, music and toys. In Glen Urquhart near Loch Ness, three sisters sell their own natural soaps, watercolours and wooden bowls.
