Argyll and Bute's cafés are a joy, especially on the islands. Take tea in a garden on Kerrera near a ruined castle, eat cheese at a dairy café above Tobermory, or stop at a beach café on Bute. On Lismore, the heritage centre's café has a deck with views, and in Oban there's a chocolate factory and a vegan bakery. Many are open only in season, so check before you travel.
