The Oystercatcher is a bar and restaurant in a whitewashed house at Otter Ferry, on the east shore of Loch Fyne, with its yellow front door, a painted sign of two oystercatchers over it, and picnic tables on the grass.

From the garden the view runs across the loch to the hills, and below there is a beach and a stone pier where boats can tie up.

Fresh local seafood is the heart of the menu, with seasonal dishes and daily specials, and meat and vegetarian and vegan choices alongside; visitors talk of the oysters, the langoustines in garlic butter, the hake and the Fyne Ales on tap. Inside there are leather sofas round a stove and shelves of books. It opens from 11am to 9pm, Tuesday to Sunday, and is closed on Monday. Book a table online; for more than ten, email ahead. It is a fine stop on the slow road down Argyll's Secret Coast.
