Look Out: Perseid Meteor Shower Event Lights Up Cairngorms Next Month

The Perseid meteor shower gets its own evening on 18 August 2025 at Tomintoul & Glenlivet Discovery Centre, in Scotland's Cairngorms Dark Sky Park. This 2-hour guided stargazing session at the Skyhide Pavilion, led by local astronomer Sam, is open to families and anyone keen, with up to 100 meteors an hour on a clear night. Bring blankets and snacks. There are indoor alternatives if needed. Donations support the park.
