Welcome

There's something lovely about a riverside town park, and Wilton Lodge in Hawick is a gorgeous one, with more than a hundred acres of walks under tall old trees.

Wander past bright flower beds, a scented garden and a waterfall, with footbridges to take you over the water. Look in at the walled garden, where volunteers grow fruit, vegetables and flowers the organic way, tucking marigolds and nasturtiums among the crops to keep the pests off. Along the way you'll pass an art deco war memorial with a figure called Youth, and memorials to Jimmie Guthrie and Steve Hislop, Hawick's motorcycle racing champions. Children will love the play park, and the Pavilion Cafe is close by.
