Twin Peakes

A fly-fishing shop at Milton of Crathes by the Dee, run by twin brothers from the Isle of Lewis, selling rods, reels, lines and clothing.

In one of the old stone buildings at Milton of Crathes, a hand-carved sign reads Twin Peakes Fly-Fishing.

Inside, the walls are hung with rods and reels, and the shelves are full of lines, flies and waxed jackets. It is run by the twins Al and Will, who grew up on the Isle of Lewis and brought their love of fly-fishing to one of the most famous salmon rivers in the world, the Dee.

The shop stocks tackle and clothing for long days on the water. But the brothers are anglers first, and glad to talk about fishing the river.

The Dee runs just below Milton of Crathes, and the gallery, brasserie and steam railway are all in the same courtyard, so a visit fits easily into a day on Deeside.
