Just across the River Tweed from Melrose, in the village of Gattonside, the Hoebridge is a restaurant in a pretty old inn with a garden.

The menu is seasonal, so it changes with what is at its best. On a fine evening you can begin with an aperitif in the garden before moving indoors to your table.

The Hoebridge opens for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday. Tables are limited, so booking ahead is strongly advised. Melrose, with its abbey and gardens, is a short walk away over the river, which makes a lovely way to arrive and leave.
