Welcome

On the Market Square in Melrose, Burts is an 18th-century inn painted crisp white, with black window surrounds and bright red window boxes.

It has been owned and run by the Henderson family for more than 50 years, and it feels like it.

The hotel has a restaurant and a brasserie, for a relaxed lunch or a special dinner. Dogs are welcome too, and the family also lets a self-catering cottage nearby.

Melrose has its abbey ruins and the Eildon Hills rising behind. Burts sits right at its centre, a comfortable base for walking St Cuthbert's Way or exploring the Tweed valley.
