South Donmouth Beach
South Donmouth Beach is in the Old Aberdeen area of the city.
Meeting the North Sea at the southern mouth of the River Don, the beach backs onto Donmouth Local Nature Reserve, with the Windows to the Sea sculpture, Aberdeen Esplanade and historic Old Aberdeen all on the doorstep. Seals, seabirds, waders and terns are often seen along this stretch of coast. In the summer months, rangers organise a host of events, from minibeast hunts to seashore searches. The area was designated a Nature Reserve in 1992.
