Argyll and Bute
Davaar Island
Introduction
At the mouth of the Campbeltown Loch is Davaar Island, a small tidal island linked to the mainland by a shingle causeway. Largely populated by holiday homes, the island is one of more than 40 that can be walked to from the mainland British Isles. It’s also renowned for its seven caves, one of which features a large cave painting of the crucifixion of Jesus.
