Welcome

Beinn an Tuirc Distillers is a small, family-run distillery on the Torrisdale Castle Estate, on the east coast of Kintyre.

Since 2017 it has made Kintyre Gin with spring water from Beinn an Tuirc, the Hill of the Wild Boar, the highest point in Kintyre, and its stills run on power from the estate's own hydroelectric scheme.

Alongside the gin it now makes vodka, brandy and rum. Tours show how it is all done, and at the Gin School you spend three hours creating a recipe of your own, then take home two bottles of it.

The licensed cafe serves G&Ts, coffee, home baking and light lunches, with a covered terrace looking out over the fields, and it is a lovely spot for afternoon tea. The distillery opens every day from eleven until four; book ahead for tours and the Gin School.
