Islay, Jura and Campbeltown.

Argyll and Bute is whisky country. Islay alone has distilleries making some of the most famous peated malts in the world, from Port Ellen's bays to the Sound of Islay. Across the water, Jura has whisky and rum, while Campbeltown, once the whisky capital of the world, still has three working distilleries. There are old distilleries in Oban and Tobermory too. Book tours ahead, and take the ferry rather than the car.
