Meall Greigh stands at the north-east end of the Ben Lawers range, above Loch Tay in Perth and Kinross.
At 1,001 metres it only just clears the 1,000-metre mark, and each of its neighbours along the range is higher.
Meall Garbh is three kilometres to the west, with An Stuc a little beyond it. Ben Lawers itself, which the National Trust for Scotland calls the highest mountain in Tayside, is about four and a half kilometres to the south-west.
The Trust describes the range as famous for its flora, and says more than 40,000 people explore these hills every year.

Under snow and ice this is a different day, with short light and the risk of avalanche. It needs an ice axe, crampons, winter boots and the skill to use them.
The summit is optional. Turning back is the right decision whenever the cloud, the wind or the light say so.
