Stob Binnein

Add to List

Introduction

The enormous Stob Binnein, in the north of the Trossachs stands at an impressive 3822 feet, making it the 18th highest munro in Scotland. Stob Binnein is connected to it's taller symmetrical sibling Ben More, but is quite often thought of as a better summit. Derived from the Gaelic for ‘Peak of the anvil’, it's a fantastic journey to the summit. Expect some fantastic views, encounters with wildlife, and an impressive ascent to the summit with views over the East, including Loch Voil, Ben Vorlich and South through the Trossachs.

There are various starting points for this hike, we recommend starting at a parking area near Inverlochlarig Farm to the south, which is a quieter route. There is also an opportunity to extend your hike and continue to Ben More, although it includes heading back to the car park and continuing on the path to Ben More, so be aware this hike it not for the faint hearted.
