From Monday the 4th to Friday the 8th of August 2025, Shetland Fiddle Week returns with a full programme of intermediate and advanced fiddle classes. Tutors include local players with long-standing ties to the tradition. Workshops run each day in Lerwick, focusing on reels, jigs and slower airs, taught by ear. Evening events include small concerts in churches and public halls, plus informal sessions at the boating club. Most participants attend the full week, some travelling from overseas. While classes are booked out early, evening events remain open to the public. The focus is on learning, listening and playing together across different settings.
