The Sandwich Station, Lochranza

A takeaway in Lochranza's old fire station, making sandwiches to order from the best local produce, with tables outside by the shore road.

Welcome

The Sandwich Station began with a simple question: why could nobody in Lochranza get an amazing sandwich? The answer is now a little takeaway in the village's old fire station, a white building with a red sign on the road along the shore.

Everything is made to order from the best of what the suppliers have that day, so the menu changes daily and sometimes by the hour. Mornings bring breakfast rolls of crispy smoked streaky bacon, fried free-range egg and black pudding from Campbells the butchers, and later come generous sandwiches on fresh bread. It is first come, first served, and at busy times it may take a few minutes.

Take your sandwich to the tables outside, or carry it down to the shore. The Sandwich Station opens every day in season, from early morning until mid-afternoon.
