Welcome

Persabus is a working farm on the hill above Port Askaig, run by the Fletcher family, with views over the Sound of Islay to the Paps of Jura, and in one of its buildings is a pottery and art studio.

The pottery made here is hand-painted with designs drawn from the landscapes and seascapes of Islay and Jura, then glazed and fired in the studio's own kilns, and it is sold alongside other Islay-inspired art, in the studio and online.

Better still, you can paint your own. Choose a shape from the shelves of unglazed bisque and paint it with a memory of your holiday; the studio glazes and fires it for you to keep. From April to October you can simply turn up, with bookings only for large groups, and from November to March you can book a session at any time. There are mixed-media workshops too, and freestyle art with charcoal, pastels, watercolour and acrylics. The studio opens Tuesday to Friday, noon to 4pm, and Saturday, noon to 3pm.
