Peatzeria is an Italian restaurant and takeaway on Shore Street in Bowmore, in a whitewashed building with a little belfry and pointed windows, right on the seafront over Loch Indaal.

Inside it is a bright bistro of wooden floors and booths under a deep blue wall painted with clouds, and outside there is a terrace of red picnic tables by the water, a wood-fired oven and a glass pod for eating with the view in any weather.

It opened in April 2017. The pizzas are made by hand and many carry island produce: Islay crab with rocket and parmesan, or Islay scallops, alongside the classics and vegetarian and vegan choices, with pasta and other Italian dishes on the menu too. It serves lunch from noon to 3pm and dinner from 5pm to 9pm, Monday to Saturday, and is closed on Sunday. Booking a table is wise; everything on the menu can also be taken away.
