Heron & Willow
A family-run bookshop on the Canongate in Jedburgh since 2023, with Scottish history, a children's nook and new vinyl and record players.
Jedburgh's family-run bookshop sits on the Canongate, a short walk from the abbey, behind a deep green shopfront that's hard to pass without stopping.
Dean, Jayne and Freya Freeman sold their first book here on 1 April 2023, and the shop has been named a finalist for the UK's bookshop of the year every year since. They stock the books they find curious and interesting, with plenty of Scottish history, books about music and a children's corner with a reading nook and a drawing table. The family ran a music festival for more than a decade, which is why you'll also find new vinyl and record players among the shelves. There are three book groups and a writing group, and every month an evening with an author, a comedian, a musician or someone else with a story to tell. The hours change a little with the seasons, so check before you go; it's usually closed on Tuesdays and Sundays.

New books, new vinyl and record players; book groups, a writing group and an event every month.
