Helgi's is a small pub and restaurant on Harbour Street, looking over the harbour in Kirkwall, and it takes its look from Orkney's Viking past: a traditional bar with a slate floor and wood-panelled walls, small but perfectly formed.

Its Viking theme draws on the Orkneyinga saga.

The ground-floor bar keeps a good stock of draught and bottled beers, wines and spirits and a fine run of malt whiskies. The menu changes often: home-cooked comfort food, using as much Orkney produce as possible, with coffee, tea and home bakes through the day. It opened in 2011. Upstairs there is room for parties of up to 22, at smaller tables. It is for over 18s only. It opens every day from 11.45am, until midnight early in the week, 1am from Thursday to Saturday, and 11pm on Sunday, when it opens at 12.30pm.
