Welcome

In an old cottage on Shore Street in Cromarty, gallery48 is a gift shop and two small galleries under one roof.

It opened in 2015, and it has become one of the pleasures of a wander round this handsome little town.

The ground floor is a gift shop of unusual, high quality things: handmade pottery on lit wooden shelves, cards, textiles, woollens, ornaments and jewellery from many different makers. Upstairs, two small gallery rooms show paintings and prints by a wide range of artists, many of them local. The work changes regularly and is affordable as well as good, so there is always something new to see.

In spring and summer gallery48 opens every day from half past ten until five; in winter it closes on Mondays, it keeps shorter hours in December, and it closes for all of January. The harbour, the cinema and the old town's shops are all close by.
