Welcome

Oran Creative Crafts is a co-operative of makers who all live and work on Iona, with a shop in a low converted steading of pink granite and slate at the St Columba Steadings, on the road to the abbey opposite the St Columba Hotel, behind a garden of wild flowers.

It was set up in 2003, and its eight members sell only their own work, made on the island.

Inside the rustic shop you will find weaving and crochet, candles and soaps, prints, cards and original photographs, glasswork, felting and knitwear, and gifts made with Iona greenstone. It opens every day from 10am to 5pm from late March until early November, with shorter hours at the start and end of the season. Next door is Aosdàna, a gallery and working studio selling contemporary artwork and Iona jewellery. The nunnery and the abbey are a few minutes' walk either way.
