Broad Bay House
A five-star guest house of four suites on the shore at Back, seven miles north of Stornoway, with a bar and dinners some nights.
Broad Bay House stands right on the shore at Back, on the east coast of Lewis, about seven miles north of Stornoway, with a sandy beach just sixty feet from the door.
It's a five-star guest house, built for the purpose, with four large en-suite rooms, and each has its own decking with seats, so you can sit out with a coffee and watch the light change over the bay. Breakfast is cooked to order, with a porridge menu all of its own, and the house is fully licensed, with wine, gin and malt whisky lists and cocktails at the bar. On some evenings there are sharing platters, and on Wednesdays a set dinner of three courses, which needs booking a couple of weeks ahead. The rooms are for two adults, two of them take dogs, and the house is open all year, so it makes a peaceful base for the whole island, with Stornoway a short drive away.
