The Best Links in the Highlands and Moray

In the Highlands and Moray the links run beside wide firths and sandy bays, and the summer evenings seem to go on for ever. From championship courses to short and quirky links by the sea, these are the ones worth the drive.

Golf here has a feel all of its own. The links run beside wide firths and long sandy beaches, and on a summer evening you can still be putting out in daylight well past nine. There's real history too, with golf played on these shores for centuries and Old Tom Morris among those who laid the courses out.

The courses range from some of the most admired links anywhere to short, sociable rounds where half the fun is the view. Many are an easy drive from Inverness, so you can stay in one place and play several in a few days, and finish each round with a drink looking out over the water.
