Glasshouses and a peace garden.

Glasgow lives up to its name as the Dear Green Place. At the top of Byres Road, the botanic gardens are free every day, with great Victorian glasshouses full of palms, orchids and ferns. On the south side, a walled peace garden grows behind an arts centre on the site of the old tram works, a calm place to sit. Both are perfect for a break from the city streets.

She works in the studio her dad helped her build in his back garden, in the south of Glasgow.
