Inside Maybell Cottage.

Maybell Cottage dates back to 1590 and sits just off Pittenweem's High Street, in an old walled garden full of flowers and fruit trees. The American architect Thomas H. Blurock restored it with real flair: a Bulthaup kitchen, a big stone fireplace you can cook in, and furniture by Saarinen, Wegner and Arne Jacobsen. It's set over three floors for two, with a Savoir bed under the timber roof and a cinema room in the basement. There's a patio for morning coffee and evening drinks, and the coast is minutes away.
