Walking in Aberdeenshire takes you from Highland glens to the edge of the sea. Follow waymarked paths through the old Scots pines of Royal Deeside, climb a little hill above Braemar or a granite tor south of Banchory, or wander the high dunes of a nature reserve where seals lie on the sand. There are gentle loops round castles and country parks, and longer days into the mountains. Pack a waterproof whatever the forecast, and leave time for tea afterwards.
