Aberdeen
Haddock suppers from Cove Bay to Dyce.
Aberdeen has fished the North Sea for centuries, and a fish supper is still one of the city's simple pleasures. A local fish and chip business fries haddock bought fresh each day, with double-cooked chips, at Cove Bay on the southern edge of the city and Bridge of Don to the north. Its restaurant at Dyce, near the airport, is the one where you can sit in. In the Merchant Quarter, a relaxed bistro on Correction Wynd has cooked a short, changing menu of modern British food since 2004. If the evening is fine, take your chips down to the beach esplanade.
