Aberdeen’s Union Square is getting a new place to eat. Maki and Ramen, the popular Japanese-inspired restaurant, will open a 120-seat venue in the city centre this August.

Known for its rich broth, house-made noodles and playful approach to branding, the restaurant plans to make an impression with neon signage and creative dishes.

Around 30 jobs have been created, and the first 100 diners on opening weekend will enjoy £5 ramen bowls. The team says it will source local produce and keep prices affordable.
