Aberdeenshire is home to over 263 castles and many of them are said to be haunted by their previous occupants, some of whom are still sighted today. Believer or not, the stories attached to these castles may send a chill down your spine.
In autumn, as the temperature cools, the colours in Scotland’s landscape warm up. The nights draw in, and the land turns more dramatic, with bursts of colour in the trees.
Halloween is a good time to seek out some of Aberdeenshire’s spookiest places, and the ghosts and gruesome tales attached to them.
