Uig Sands Restaurant
A seafood restaurant with two AA Rosettes and great windows over the sands of Uig, on the far west coast of Lewis.
Uig Sands Restaurant stands at Timsgarry on the far west coast of Lewis, and its long windows look straight out over the wide, pale sands of Uig Bay.
The building is modern, designed by Dualchas Architects, and seats up to forty, so it feels intimate even on a busy night. The kitchen is led by Kenny MacKay from Carloway, and the focus is fish and shellfish, with a menu that changes every day depending on what has been landed, alongside lamb and beef from the island. It holds two AA Rosettes. Through the summer there's a fixed-price menu at lunch and dinner, and in October it turns to à la carte from Thursday to Saturday before closing for the winter. Booking is essential, and it's a long drive out across Lewis from Stornoway, the last miles on single-track roads, so make an evening of it and take your time over the view.

Open from spring to the end of October, with booking essential.
In October it serves its à la carte menu from Thursday to Saturday.
