Hebridean Copper Kettle Fudge
A roadside honesty box at Breasclete on Lewis selling fudge made in a copper kettle, along with home baking and eggs.
Lewis is dotted with honesty boxes, little roadside stalls where you help yourself and leave the money, and one of the best loved sits beside the A858 at Breasclete, looking out over Loch Roag.
It belongs to Hebridean Copper Kettle Fudge.
The fudge is made the old way, cooked in a copper kettle, and it comes in flavours you may never have tried alongside the classics, with some vegan kinds too. The box is stocked with bars of fudge, and often with home baking and fresh eggs as well. Visitors have called it the loveliest fudge on the island.
The box is open at all hours in season. Stop, choose, and pay with cash in the box, then drive on towards Callanish with something sweet for the road.
