The Tiree Wave Classic takes place each October on the Isle of Tiree, one of the westernmost islands in the Inner Hebrides. It is the longest-running windsurf wave event in the UK, with competitions for professionals, amateurs, juniors and masters. Heats run across several days, with timings shaped by wind and tide. Registration opens on the Friday, and by Saturday morning the first sails are usually on the water. Off the beach, the event draws a mix of riders, families and spectators. Evenings tend to gather around food trucks, prize tables, and the quiet work of drying kit before tomorrow’s forecast.
