Welcome

The Steamship Café is the café on Trossachs Pier at the eastern end of Loch Katrine, where the historic steamship Sir Walter Scott ties up between sailings, and it is a fine place to begin or end a day on the loch.

It is run by the company that runs the loch's cruises, and it serves everything from breakfast to afternoon tea: pizzas, home-made soups, main courses at lunch, fresh cakes, and a fully stocked licensed bar.

The menu leans on local produce, and the windows and patio look out over the water and the pier, so you can watch the steamer come and go. Dogs are welcome on the patio. It opens every day from 9am to 5pm. If you walk or cycle the lochside road west, the family-run Pier Café at Stronachlachar, at the far end, is the other place to eat on the loch, and takeaway drinks, ice creams and snacks are sold at the pier's gift shop.
