Sligachan
Introduction
Sligachan is where to go to get the best views of the Black Cuillin, take a leisurely walk along the north shore of Loch Sligachan or if you are skilled and experienced enough, do some serious climbing.
This area has catered for tourists for so long that a little community of various types of accommodation has developed. There is the Sligachan hotel with its rooms, restaurant and bar, caravans, cottages and bunkhouses and a play area and family friendly bar all ready to cater for the visitor.
There is also a Mountain Rescue centre reminding us that these hills can be dangerous so be sure to heed advice if you are aiming to climb. If using public transport you can get a bus to the Sligachan Hotel from Portree, Broadford and Kyleakin.
