Nicknamed the ‘green loch’ by locals, An Lochan Uaine is a freshwater loch near Aviemore. Getting its name from a local legend about fairies who turned the water its distinctive green colour, the loch is found in the heart of Glenmore Forest and surrounded by mountains – making it a very scenic choice for a hike.
