Hoswick Visitor Centre
A café, craft shop and fishing and textile archive in the village of Hoswick in the South Mainland.
The Hoswick Visitor Centre stands in the small village of Hoswick in the South Mainland, a blue-clad building that serves locals and visitors alike.
It has three parts. The café sells coffee, tea and light lunches, homemade cakes and ice creams, with full breakfasts until 11.30 on weekdays. The shop sells arts and crafts, handmade things and books, all to do with Shetland. And up on the mezzanine is the village's own heritage: an archive of photographs and information on Hoswick's fishing and textile past.
The centre is full of local knowledge about the walks, the geopark and the history around it, and is glad to share it. The building is open-plan and step-free, with a ramp, wide doors, an accessible toilet and a small lift to the mezzanine. Other shops in the village sell handmade jewellery and woollen clothes. It opens Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and the kitchen closes at 3.

Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm; kitchen closes at 3pm; full breakfasts until 11.30am, Monday to Friday.
