Welcome

There's plenty going on at Dunoon Burgh Hall, and it makes a lovely stop in the middle of town.

The handsome Scottish Baronial hall opened in 1874, after Dunoon became a burgh, and held the first theatre in Argyll. Sylvester McCoy, a Dunoon man, first stepped onto a stage in this very hall. The community saved it from demolition, and it reopened in 2017 after a restoration of more than £3.5 million. Its gallery has shown everything from local artists to Andy Warhol, and upstairs the main hall hosts live music, comedy and Dunoon Players' December pantomime. Then settle into the café, or out in its little garden on a fine day.
