    An attraction

Armadale Castle Gardens are on the A851 in Sleat, just north of the Armadale ferry pier. Park free in the large car park, which has three disabled bays, by the Stables Café and ticket office, and buy a day, family or season pass at the office. The castle ruin, gardens and Museum of the Isles open every day from 9.30am to 5pm, last entry 4.30pm, from late March to the end of October. Gravel paths lead past lawns and old trees to the ivy-hung ruin and its views over the Sound of Sleat, with woodland trails beyond; the Red Trail loop is shut for now. Toilets are in the museum and the Stables, both accessible, and the museum is step-free inside. Dogs on a lead are welcome in the gardens and the café, but only assistance dogs in the museum. The Stables Café by the car park serves food every day until 4pm, so lunch is in the grounds.

If it rains

The Museum of the Isles is indoors and step-free, and the Stables Café is by the car park.
