Skye in a day from Inverness: Eilean Donan, Portree and the Trotternish coast.

If you're short on time, this is the way to see Skye without staying the night. The coach goes down Loch Ness and through Glen Moriston to Eilean Donan Castle on its island, then over the Skye Bridge to Portree for lunch. The afternoon follows the Trotternish coast north for Kilt Rock, a walk to Lealt Falls and a view of the Old Man of Storr, with a last photo stop above Loch Carron on the way back. It's a twelve-hour day and you're back in Inverness at about 8pm, but you'll have seen a great deal.
