Glencoe and the Glenfinnan Viaduct from Glasgow, with Loch Lomond on the way home.

From Glasgow the road north runs up the side of Loch Lomond and over Rannoch Moor, which makes this one of the best-looking drives of any day tour. After a break at Tyndrum you stop in Glencoe for photographs, have lunch in Fort William and then head to Glenfinnan, with time to see the viaduct the Hogwarts Express crosses in the films and the monument on Loch Shiel. On the way back you pass Neptune's Staircase, the flight of locks on the Caledonian Canal, and stop at Tarbet on Loch Lomond. It runs every day from April to October and on four days a week in winter.
