North Berwick: Getting around

Getting there North Berwick is well connected. Its train station is located a short 10-minute walk south of the town centre and offers a regular, direct service to and from Edinburgh Waverley, with a journey time of around 35 minutes. This makes it an extremely popular and easy day trip from the capital. The town is also well-served by local buses connecting it to other towns in East Lothian.

Getting around The town itself is compact and ideal for exploring on foot. The harbour, High Street, beaches, and the start of the walk up North Berwick Law are all within easy walking distance of each other. To visit nearby attractions like Tantallon Castle, you may want to use a local bus service or take a short drive.

Public transport East Coast Buses operates regular services that connect North Berwick with Edinburgh and the surrounding coastal towns and villages, offering a scenic, if slower, alternative to the train. The bus stops are conveniently located in the town centre.
