Bays facing the Bass Rock.
The beaches along the Forth range from town sands with a promenade to long, quiet bays behind the pinewoods. North Berwick has sand on both sides of its harbour, with rock pools, a boating pond and the Bass Rock out to sea. Further east, there's a private beach with a tiny harbour cut into the rocks, and the great curve of Ravensheugh Sands at Tyninghame. On Edinburgh's own shore, Portobello has its Victorian promenade and a café for cake and gelato, and at Cramond a causeway runs out to the island at low tide. Check the tide times before you walk out to Cramond Island.
You are up to date.
That is everything for today. Tomorrow's first posts go up in the morning. Or have the best of it in your inbox each morning in the Daily.
